Are you a recent graduate looking to make a difference in your community? Do you want to build real skills, connect with international volunteers, and contribute to the future of Cambodia? The Youth Service Community (YSC) is for you!
Organized by Cambodian Youth Action (CYA), YSC is a mid-to-long-term volunteering program (6–12 months) that empowers Cambodian youth to improve education and support rural development while gaining leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural experience.

YSC brings together young Cambodians and international volunteers from around the world to work hand-in-hand in primary schools and communities across rural Cambodia.
Together, you’ll help children improve their English and digital literacy, support local teachers, create safe and engaging school environments, and lead activities that inspire long-term community development.

This is more than just volunteering—it’s a chance to grow as a leader, gain valuable field experience, and become part of a global team working for change.

  • Teach English and digital skills to children aged 5–12 using creative, interactive methods
  • Co-create lesson plans and materials with local teachers
  • Lead school improvement projects such as painting, gardening, and building reading corners
  • Organize meetings and activities to engage parents and community leaders
  • Collaborate with international volunteers, sharing culture, knowledge, and experiences

You’ll be based in one of CYA’s rural sites: Kampot, Kampong Speu, Siem Reap, or Battambang, living and working in a team with full support from CYA.

  • Give Back with Purpose: Use your knowledge and energy to support Cambodian children and improve their schools.
  • Work with Global Volunteers: Build meaningful friendships and learn from international peers from across Asia, Europe, and beyond.
  • Build Your Career: Gain experience in teaching, leadership, teamwork, and grassroots development—skills that benefit your academic and professional future.
  • Reconnect with Your Culture: Immerse yourself in community life, explore your country, and discover the power of service rooted in your own heritage.

As a YSC volunteer, you’ll be supported every step of the way with:

  • Shared volunteer housing in rural communities
  • Three nutritious meals per day
  • Transportation from Phnom Penh to your site
  • Ongoing training in education, leadership, and intercultural teamwork
  • A modest monthly allowance (subject to funding) to cover personal needs
  • 24/7 support from CYA’s national team
  • Certificate of Completion and a recommendation letter for your career or studies
  • Deep cultural exchange with international volunteers

We’re looking for motivated Cambodian youth who are:

  • Aged 21–35
  • Recent graduates (within the last 2 years) from a university or vocational training program
  • Basic English proficiency to communicate and work with international volunteers
  • Passionate about education, community development, and making a difference
  • Willing to live and work in rural communities for 6 to 12 months

You don’t need to be an expert—we’ll support you with training, mentorship, and a strong team environment.
