Long & Mid-Term Volunteering

The Long-Term Volunteering (LMTV) program is designed to offer dedicated volunteers a transformative and enriching experience, contributing meaningfully to projects for a minimum of two months. The program is structured into five main components to ensure a comprehensive and well-rounded volunteering experience: Selection Process, On Arrival Training, Cultural Integration, Roles & Responsibilities, and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Selection Process

Candidates submit an online application detailing their qualifications and motivation. After an initial screening, shortlisted candidates undergo a comprehensive interview, with reference checks conducted as needed. Successful candidates receive pre-arrival information to prepare for their volunteering experience.

On Arrival Train (OAT)

Upon arrival, volunteers receive an orientation about the project, its objectives, and safety protocols. They are trained in role-specific tasks and cultural sensitivity to ensure effective contribution and smooth integration into the community.

Cultural Integration

Cultural immersion is facilitated through a homestay experience with local families, participation in community events, and basic language classes. Regular social activities and excursions are organized to foster bonding and deepen understanding of the local culture.

Roles & Responsibilities

Volunteers are assigned specific tasks aligned with the project’s needs and their skills. They collaborate closely with local staff, document their activities, and adhere to the program’s policies and code of conduct. Feedback is encouraged through a ‘Story of Change’ after a prolonged service period.

Monitoring & Evaluation

Regular check-ins and performance evaluations are conducted to assess volunteers’ progress and contributions. Feedback from volunteers, local staff, and community members is gathered to continuously improve the program. An impact assessment is conducted to measure the program’s effectiveness and benefits to the community.

By integrating these components, the Long-Term Volunteering (LMTV) program ensures a comprehensive and enriching experience for volunteers, fostering meaningful contributions to the project site while promoting cultural understanding, personal growth, and positive community impact.

Our Hosting Projects

We host our volunteers in three different projects including, the CYA head office, the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), and the Center of Arts, Music, and Education (CAME).
